"Working with Tia, the founder of Sustainable Fitness, has transformed both my equestrian performance and overall well-being. She created a tailored workout plan that eased my persistent back pain while enhancing essential skills for Dressage, focusing on core stability and leg strength to improve my balance and connection with my horse.
Tia’s holistic approach also targeted my daily back pain, improving my flexibility and mobility with carefully chosen exercises. Her commitment to both my athletic performance and everyday health reflects the core values of Sustainable Fitness. I’m grateful for Tia’s guidance in fostering a stronger, healthier lifestyle." - Alexis Young
"I have been running for the past 40 years. I started working with Tia for Hood to Coast race 2016. After a few sessions, my performance improved drastically. I shaved off a minute per mile. Feeling encouraged, I signed up for Eugene Marathon 2017. Tia prepared me mentally and physically to run my best, at age 59 I ran a Marathon at 3h 49m, which qualified me for Boston Marathon 2018. Completed the Boston Marathon! The mind and body training came in very handy to push me through despite one of the worst weather years in recent history. Working with Tia has helped me improve my speed, stamina and recovery, I have been able to shave off two minutes per mile and enjoy running without pain." Dave. H
I have had piriformis pain for about seven years, which means I have problems sitting for long periods of time, and I have sciatica pain.
After about 10 sessions, my pain has reduced significantly, my flexibility has improved dramatically, and I am able to perform some of the exercises on my own to alleviate the pain.
Tia has a high-level knowledge of anatomy, and with her caring and compassionate character, she is an asset in improving her clients' quality of life.
Update: As of October 2016, I am pain-free. Feel wonderful, thank you Tia! -Cynthia P.

"I am a recently recovering 66-year-old breast cancer patient, and from 2018-2019 have undergone a year of surgeries, infections that wouldn’t heal, chemo, radiation, and a lot of fatigue. I have always been active, a swimmer, TRX, weight lifting, hiking etc. and frequently have engaged Personal Trainers upon reaching a plateau or for getting in better shape. After a year of cancer treatments, I was very reticent to begin exercising again even though I knew it would be one of the most important parts of my recovery and getting my stamina back.
Tia is first and foremost an amazing listener and based on her information gathering when we first met she created a program for me to ease me into weight training again. Our sessions consisted of meditation, stretching, instruction on how to warm up muscles, ligaments and tendons, body weight strength training, yoga, TRX and traditional weight training.
Each session was different, interesting and taxing with just enough progression to not hurt but to improve and feel my body getting stronger which impacted my mindset and my mood.
Tia is also so knowledgeable (but not pushy) about nutrition and diet. We had great conversations about business and Portland since we are transplants. I would recommend Tia as a Personal Trainer for anyone at any level who is interested in a Trainer who is tuned into your goals and who can work with anyone at any stage or age." - Iris M.
